Quotes From Our Readers About This Book

It was a page-turner that kept me guessing — or at least vacillating about — the identity of the killer. I love Hitchcock’s Rear Window and enjoy stories that play with that plot. -Maran M.

The story was quite gripping and kept me turning pages (or listening – I used both the print and the audiobook) wanting to know how it ended. It was well crafted, with lots of twists and turns, and gives much to think about with the themes of risk taking, relationships, mental health, the haves and have-nots, and more. -Cheri T.

This was the first book I read by Ruth Ware and I loved it so much, I have now read everything she’s published. The story was compelling and twisty and so much fun. -Shelly C.

I love locked-room mysteries and found this one very cleverly executed. -Priya P.

Hi! Big Ruth Ware fan here starting with The Lying Game back when. I think her books are very cleverly plotted and each one quite unique. The genre is my favorite for audio due to the fabulous Imogen Church. She can really ramp up the suspense. I think this author/narrator duo is a match made in heaven!
ICYMI Backlist is my 1st ever reading challenge and I loved it!! I may be wrong and will have to go back and check but I don’t think Ruth’s books have made your ICYMI lists in her genre. I think her talent surpasses most of the competition in the genre. Two runner-up books for me are Lucy Foley’s Paris Apartment and especially Alice Feeney’s Rock Paper Scissors. The Island, by Adrian McKinty, is IMHO in a category by itself for suspense in a real life scenario.
I wasn’t asked, lol, but I think I’d have a hard time ranking Ruth Ware books except Zero Days and The It Girl would be at the bottom. She scored big with One Perfect Couple! Thanks for reading!!
