But there’s a little problem. He hates Christmas.

Reader Thoughts About the Book
While the publisher says this novel is “packed with heart-warming festive cheer,” readers note that there are some difficult topics, including at the beginning of the book. While it ultimately proves to be a very heartwarming read, just don’t expect it to be jolly throughout.
The Christmas Fayre on Holly Field
Book Summary
This is Harriet’s second Christmas since her husband left, leaving her a single mom. She’s struggling financially as the holidays approach, but environmentalist blogger Owen has a challenge for her. What if she only buys second-hand items until Christmas?
Owen doesn’t tell her that he’s going to be sharing her experiment anonymously with his followers along the way. While she is having some success (with some challenges mixed in), things may change when she discovers her life is being documented online.
Thoughts on This Book
Most readers appreciate being able to relate to Harriet’s financial limitations compared to many other Christmas books where the characters seem to have infinite cash. They also enjoyed her second-hand challenge, with some saying they’ll try it themselves for financial or environmental reasons.
Some find that they can’t get past Owen not telling Harriet about the blog upfront, which is understandable. If you think that would bother you, we recommend skipping this one.
While this is the second book set in Foxmore Village, it features a different main character and is the first set during the holidays.
